Kevin Craig Hardy is a native of New Haven, CT and is the son of A. Louise and the late Arthur J. “Jay” Hardy. Kevin was born and raised in Saint Matthew’s Unison Freewill Baptist Church and rendered committed service as a dedicated member. Kevin officially accepted his call to the ministry in 2008. With continued dedicated service as an Elder in the ministry, Elder Kevin C. Hardy was voted as Pastor in June of 2014 and installed on December 7, 2014.
Secularly, Elder Hardy currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Career and Professional Development Office and Adjunct Professor at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven. He recently retired from the West Haven Public School System; where he worked for nearly 31 years, as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher and Instructional Coach. Previously, from 1999 to 2012 Elder Hardy also taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Haven in the Education Department/Teacher Prep Program preparing young students to embark on a career in education. Elder Hardy attended and graduated from The University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Quinnipiac University with a Master of Arts Degree, and Southern Connecticut State University where he received his Sixth-Year degree (an administrative certification) in Educational Leadership in 2013. Elder Hardy has also studied at Grand Canyon Seminary and holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Kairos University in partnership with Missio Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. He was the proud recipient of Missio Seminary’s President’s Award for most exemplifying the seminary’s mission and ideals in June 2024. Elder Hardy is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree from United Lutheran Seminary in Pennsylvania. Elder Hardy is a humble man who gives God all the glory for these accomplishments and opportunities.
Elder Hardy is a member of the NAACP, 100 Black Men of America and the New Haven Works Advisory Board.
Although Elder Hardy is very proud of both his secular and ministry accomplishments, he is most proud to call himself husband to First Lady Valerie L. Hardy, and father to his daughter Karynn and son Kevin.
